HCM City welcomes 3.5 million foreign tourists


Since the beginning of 2011, Ho Chi Minh City has welcomed 3.5 million international visitors, fulfilling the year's plan and representing a year-on-year increase of 12.9 percent.

According to the municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the number of visitors to the city by air reached 2.65 million, up by 6 percent, and the US, Japan and China were the leaders in top 10 tourist markets.

HCM City's tourism revenue hit VND49 trillion (US$2.33 billion), rising 19.5 percent year-on-year, of which, VND29 trillion were generated from restaurants and hotels services and VND12 trillion from travel services.(Source: VOV)
